In this workshop, we'll discuss common issues and how Pilates can help support clients experiencing pelvic floor disfunction.

Joseph Pilates created a beautiful progression on an often-overlooked piece of equipment, the Barrel. Wipe the dust off your Barrel and remember what a great piece of equipment it can be! The Barrel allows access to gradually open two very restricted areas of our body, the hips and shoulders. We will work through this progression from the Small Barrel up to the Ladder Barrel in such a way that it becomes easier to choreograph the Barrels into almost every workout.

Learn how to create a safe, effective program for clients with scoliosis. Understand the variations of scoliosis and their health risk to the client. Design a program that allows for a balance between stability and mobility of the spine while helping your client gain strength and functionality. We'll discuss how best to use breath and cuing to support a client with scoliosis on the mat and apparatus.

This workshop will take you through the classical technique and proper teaching tools of the full Advanced Mat order. Refine your knowledge of the exercises, develop new and more efficient cues, and learn how to take your client to the next level with efficient flow and transitions from one exercise to the next. We'll discuss how and where the Advanced Mat exercises can be utilized in private and semi-private sessions.
