This Privacy Policy describes how powerpilates.com ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit our website or use our services.
We collect the following information from you when you visit our website:
This includes your name, email address, and any other information you provide to us voluntarily, such as through a contact form or survey.
This includes the type of device you are using, your IP address, and your browser type.
This includes information about how you use our website, such as the pages you visit and the links you click.
If you enroll in or complete any Power Pilates certification program, we collect and maintain records related to your training, including your name, certification level(s), date(s) of completion, certificate number, enrollment history, and continuing education records. This information is necessary to administer our credentialing programs, verify credentials to third parties, and maintain the integrity of the Power Pilates International Registry.
We use your information for the following purposes:
We share your information with the following third parties:
We retain different categories of personal information for different periods, depending on the purpose for which the data was collected and any legal obligations that apply.
Power Pilates is an accrediting and credentialing body. As with universities and other professional licensing organizations, we retain certification and training records indefinitely. This includes your name, certification level(s), date(s) of completion, certificate number, and continuing education history. These records are necessary to verify credentials to employers, studios, insurance providers, and the public; to protect the integrity of our credentialing programs; to defend against legal claims related to credential misrepresentation; and to comply with accreditation standards. This retention applies regardless of whether your certification is current or expired, and regardless of any deletion request. Deletion of certification records is not possible, as it would undermine the verifiability of credentials we have issued.
Records of purchases, payments, and refunds are retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and financial reporting laws (typically seven years), even if you request deletion of your account or personal data.
If you do not hold any Power Pilates certification and have not made a purchase, your account data and personal information may be fully deleted upon request. For certified instructors, account and profile data beyond what is necessary for credential verification may be deleted or anonymized upon request.
If you opt out of marketing communications, we will remove your information from our marketing systems promptly. You may also unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in any marketing email.
Anonymized or aggregated analytics data (such as page views, device types, and browsing patterns) is not subject to deletion requests, as it cannot be linked to an identifiable individual.
Power Pilates operates the International Registry of Certified Instructors (available at powerpilates.com/instructors), a publicly accessible directory that allows consumers, employers, and studios to verify the credentials of Pilates professionals.
The registry displays your name, certification level(s), certification status (current or expired), and general location. This information is published in the public interest to enable credential verification, similar to how bar associations, nursing boards, and universities maintain public records of credentialed professionals.
We display certification status, including expired certifications, under a legitimate interest basis (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) and as part of the credentialing service you enrolled in. The public has a legitimate interest in verifying whether an instructor holds a current or expired credential, particularly for purposes of employment decisions, consumer safety, and professional accountability.
While we retain and display certification records as described above, you have the following options to control your profile visibility:
Please note that hiding your profile does not delete your certification record, and Power Pilates reserves the right to maintain and verify credential data as part of its obligations as a credentialing body.
You have the following choices regarding your personal information. Please note that certain rights are subject to the data retention exceptions described above.
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of data transmission or storage is completely secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post a notice on our website and/or send you an email notification.
