YOUR TEACHER TRAINER
Joyce Schaer
Joyce Schaer lives in Dallas TX and is a Teacher-Trainer for Power Pilates leading training programs both in United States and International locations. She enjoys training aspiring teachers offering mentoring and practice as they prepare to successfully complete various levels of instructor certification. She is a comprehensively certified instructor and works at Classic Pilates where she trains private clients and teaches group classes. She has worked as a guest instructor and workshop leader at studios across the country. She serves as the Mind-Body Director for the Cooper Fitness Center focusing on the management of the program and expanding the Pilates program for its members. Her goal is to instill consistency in a client’s Pilates practice leading them to feel stronger, more connected both mind and body as they walk out of their sessions and into their everyday lives. She regularly attends Pilates workshops across the country to continuously improve her practice and her teaching skills.
Joyce was born and raised in Bozeman, Montana and started at the young age of 3 learning to ski (thanks to her parents). She found her competitive spirit as a swimmer and diver and later as a marathon runner. After a running injury side-lined her Marathon racing, she found Pilates as the solution to remain fit, become stronger and find deeper mind-body connections. After many years in the corporate/finance industry Joyce transitioned to a full-time Pilates Instructor and Teacher Trainer.
Joyce graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Political Science and earned her MBA in Finance and Marketing from Fordham University in New York City. She earned her Mat and Comprehensive Pilates Certifications from Power Pilates. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her two grown sons who live in Dallas.
