Jenny brings more than a decade of experience as a comprehensive certified Pilates instructor, with multiple certifications and expertise in serving special population clientele. Jenny fell in love with Pilates while receiving her BFA in Dance Performance from Southern Methodist University. After graduation, Jenny completed her Pilates Apparatus and Mat Certification from The Lab in Dumbo, Brooklyn in 2011, and has been teaching full time ever since. Jenny received her second Comprehensive Certification through Power Pilates as a bridge student in 2018. She has completed the Functional Anatomy for Movement and Injuries Workshop at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan along with numerous continuing education courses and classes with master teachers.

Jenny lived in New York City for twelve years where she performed professionally as a modern dancer in venues such as Jacob’s Pillow, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and The Sarajevo National Ballet Theater. Jenny has taught at a variety of Pilates boutiques, gyms, health clubs and community centers. She founded her business, Powell Pilates, in 2016. Shortly thereafter, she moved her family and business to Austin, TX in 2019. Jenny now runs her fully equipped Pilates studio in Austin focusing on private and semi-private sessions. When Jenny is not teaching Pilates, she is running around after her twins and loving her rescue dog. She is extremely grateful for the Pilates method that has helped her remain fit, well, and balanced through a dance career, twin pregnancy, and day-to-day life.
