Originally from Norway, Monica Plewes is the founder and owner of CORE Studio in Toronto and a Teacher Trainer for Power Pilates in Canada. She has been teaching Pilates since 2001, and was first trained by Stott Pilates, before bridging with BASI and taking her classical training through Power Pilates.
Monica started her journey in fitness as an aerobics instructor, wearing leg warmers and a body suit like Jane Fonda, almost 30 years ago. Since then, she has attended multiple conferences, teacher trainings, and continuing education workshops. Her other certifications/trainings include: personal trainer, TRX, barre, yoga, spinning, pre-and postnatal fitness, and more. Monica especially enjoys geeking out on anatomy and archival Pilates material. Her most favorite Pilates exercise is Short Spine Massage.
Monica is a wife and a mother of two. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, skiing, going to the gym, listening to music, walking in the forest, and spending time with her family and friends.
