| Real Men Do Pilates w/ Stephanie West
This workshop will help instructors work more effectively with a growing client base, male clients. Common patterns of muscular imbalance and weakness among men will be addressed, as well as specific ways to improve them. You will also learn techniques that will assist men in integrating key concepts of strength, stability, stretch and stamina into a well-balanced and challenging workout. Prerequisites: Open to instructors and clients with mat and apparatus experience. |

During this workshop you will learn/review the Technique of all exercises on the Barrels (Small Barrel, Spine Corrector and Ladder Barrel). The focus of the exercises will be the Set-Up and Action-only for all exercises. Staying "horizontal" with the exercises (Set-up and Action-only) will ensure proper movement safely and effectively. | Two Hours with a Pilates Elder: Lessons from Mary Bowen w/ Mary Bowen
Spend two hours getting to know Mary Bowen - our most senior Pilates Elder still teaching who studied with Joe and Clara themselves. The workshop is broken into two sections. The first two hours will be on the evolution of Mary Bowen's Pilates, especially since she turned 70. The second two hours will focus on Mary's specialty, PILATES PLUS PSYCHE: The Application of Jungian Typology to the Teaching and Practice of Pilates - to help both the teacher and the client. | Foam Roller 101 w/ Stephanie West
A great way to challenge your clients (especially the more intermediate and advanced clients) the unstable surface of the roller makes even the most basic Pilates exercise challenging, calling upon the deep core muscles to stabilize the body on the moving surface of the roller. Additionally, the roller can help in learning balance, improving posture, building strength, and relieving tension. Prerequisites: Open to all clients and instructors. |

| Anatomy of the Lumbar Spine and Pelvis w/ Lesly Levy
During this workshop we will delve into the primary powerhouse. We will discuss the anatomy and kinesiology of the pelvis and the lower back, common conditions related to these bones and the muscles attached to them and how Pilates can help re-align and therefore rid our students of compensatory issues. | How To Teach a Client with Osteoporosis w/ Jordana Herman
Teaching a client who has Osteoporosis presents so many challenges. What can they do? What shouldn't they do? Which exercises are supportive and which exercises should be avoided? In this workshop you will learn how to create and develop a simple workout that makes sense and can evolve as the client builds strength and skills. We will discuss what osteoporosis is and what movements are contraindicated so you can safely teach and advance your clients. The exercises taught in this workshop can easily be adopted for special case clients who need a modified workout or for healthy elderly clients. Prerequisites: Open to instructors and clients with intermediate apparatus experience. |
